§ 34-21. Form of judgment.

  • Upon the trial of any case the court shall reduce its judgment to writing and sign the same, which, being done, the same shall be entered upon the trial docket. Each judgment of the court shall be substantially in the following form:

    "The defendant having been tried for the offense of ____________ the judgment of the court is that the defendant is guilty (or not guilty, as the case may be). And it is considered, ordered and adjudged and sentenced by the court that the defendant pay a fine of $ ____________ and the cost of prosecution within ____________ days, and stand committed until such fine is paid. That in default of such payment the defendant be imprisoned for the term of ____________ hours/days/months (as the case may be) to be computed from this date.
